Get Offline and Interact with REAL Players!

Online poker and casino games have risen in popularity over the past few years. It's surely a quick and easy way to get quick gratification when you have the urge to play the game.

But where is the moody lighting? Can you see the facial tics and nervous gestures and other "tells" of your fellow poker players? Even worse, do you really get to practice in-depth psychological strategies when you're facing off against a computer?

Maybe it's time for you to host a poker night with your buddies! You can order a pizza, catch up with friends, and most importantly, interact with humans face-to-face. It may seem like a novel idea in our increasingly web-linked lives, but the history of card games will reveal to you that poker and the like have always been ways for friends and rivals to meet and compete.

Of course, presentation and atmosphere are important to a poker night. The focus of lighting should be on the table, the TV should be turned off, and refreshments must be available. Organize your accessories with neat poker chip sets, poker chip cases, poker chip trays and holders, card cases, and money drop boxes. Accessories like card shufflers and poker card guards and covers really enhance the feel of the game. A poker table with cup holders is an ideal purchase for the serious player. However, a person with less space could make do with a poker tabletop.

Let your friends know you're serious about playing poker; otherwise, you may find yourselves half-heartedly throwing cards around in the garage and paying more attention to the game on TV. Don't allow your game to surrender to banality! Choose premium poker products that you can afford and host an authentic poker party that you friends and neighbors will remember you for!

How to Throw a Great Holiday Casino Party!

Everyone is rounding up invitations to house parties, office parties, and family reunions for this holiday season. Most of us have been to so many that it'd be nice to avoid the clichés (mistletoe, egg nog, "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" playing in the background) and try something new. Because poker and other casino games have become so popular lately, why not throw a Casino Night for your office, place of worship, or home?

But wait, you say, places of worship? Not a problem. Hollywood Poker has a great article on how to use poker as a means for charity. For example:
Your buy-in and re-buy’s will cost you money, but the prizes you win will be something the organization has bought, or was fortunate enough to have donated by a business or community member. Prizes can range from gift certificates from a local restaurant all the way up to something like an iPod or flat screen television. All the money that is made from a poker charity event will go directly to what cause the organization is dedicated to working for.
But not everyone is into poker. Diversify the entertainment by having other card games and casino tables and offer games like craps or roulette or even raffles. Don't cheapen the party by renting used equipment or buying dollar store accessories! You can find some great items in a wide range of price, including in the clearance sections.
